Diet Soda cause Diabetes?

Hi, I drink 1 can a day of diet soda unless I don’t feel like it so lets say 6 cans a week… I usually drink Zero coke or Diet pepsi. Does it cause diabetes if i drink this? I have drunk these two for a couple of months and my father says it will cause cancer and i’m asking will it really?
